If you’d like to add volume to your skin or lips, reduce deep lines and wrinkles, or smooth out the finer ones, dermal injectable fillers can offer satisfying results. Allegro MedSpa in Santa Rosa offers choices like JUVÉDERM® and Restylane® to help Novato, Sonoma and Marin County women and men restore a more youthful look and enhance their facial features. Our experienced skin health professionals can help you select the one that is right for you.
How They Work
Dermal fillers are gels made from a naturally occurring substance in your skin known as hyaluronic acid. Our skin specialists use tiny micro needles to inject them into the skin in order to plump up the creased and sunken areas of the face. Typically, these are the curved lines that run vertically between the nose and the corners of the mouth (smile lines); and straighter lines that run from the corners of the mouth to the chin (marionette lines). But dermal fillers also can be used for lip enhancement, as well as depressed scars.
Our dermal fillers have their own unique benefits and limitations. The choice that’s right for you will depend on your unique skin condition, lifestyle, and the results you desire.
- JUVÉDERM is similar to other hyaluronic acid fillers but tends to last longer. This filler can add fullness and hydration to the deeper folds and wrinkles of the face and neck. It also can be used to plump the lips.
- JUVÉDERM VOLUMA™ XC is a more recent addition to the JUVÉDERM family of fillers. We can use this filler to replace lost volume in the cheek area that ages your look. Your results are instant and can last as long as 2 years.
- JUVÉDERM VOLBELLA® is a dermal filler is designed not only for gentle restoration of natural looking lip volume, it can also be used for defining lip contours.
- RESTYLANE is another filler made with hyaluronic acid. We use it to smooth moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as the smile lines (nasolabial folds). Results from a single treatment can last up to 6 months.
The wrinkle softening benefits of our dermal fillers can be enhanced when combined with BOTOX® Cosmetic. In some cases, fillers can be complemented by a chemical peel, facial, or a microdermabrasion treatment. During your consultation, you can discuss your options for creating the perfect combination of procedures to maximize your spa experience.
What You Can Expect with an Injectable Filler
Discomfort during treatment varies from person to person, and we can apply a light anesthetic prior to treatment to maximize your comfort. Side effects are rare, but may include swelling or mild bruising. You will be able to see results immediately and can carry on with your day’s activities as soon as you leave the office.
As with all our treatments, injectable fillers are administered by highly trained skin health professionals, supervised by board-certified plastic surgeons Drs. Francisco Canales and Heather Furnas. We can help you attain smoother, fuller, more youthful looking skin.
